| Brian R. Lee is President of Brian R. Lee, CPA, P.C. After graduating from University of Minnesota (formerly known as Mankato State University) with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with double major in Accounting and Business Administration with Finance concentration in December of 1983, he worked for a temporary help employment company in Scottsdale, Arizona. Starting as an Accountant, he later became Accounting Manager, and then became Controller of the then combined corporation with three subsidiaries and with combined annual revenue exceeding eight million dollars. Mr. Lee has been working in public accounting in Arizona since early 1988.
Mr. Lee has been active in technical audit and accounting areas from 1992 when he became an active member of the Arizona Society of CPAs Reporting Standards Committee, a non-disciplinary education oriented committee of the ASCPA organized to offer feedback on ASCPA member submitted financial statements from Arizona CPA sole proprietorships and up to medium/large Arizona CPA firms. This committee subsequently became known as the Technical Standards Committee, then became known as the Technical Standards Subcommittee and is now known as the Technical Standards Forum under the Accounting and Assurance Section for the ASCPA. Mr. Lee was Chairperson of the Reporting Standards Committee and Technical Standards Committee for the 1998/1999 and 1999/2000 fiscal years, respectively, was Chairperson of the Technical Standards Subcommittee for the 2001/2002 fiscal year and was Co-chairperson of the Technical Standards Forum for the 2002/2003 fiscal year.
Mr. Lee was honored as the Outstanding Committee Chairperson for 2000 by the ASCPA relating to his work with the Technical Standards Committee.
Mr. Lee was the Chairperson for the Accounting and Auditing Standards Committee of the Arizona State Board of Accountancy during the 2006/2007 fiscal year and has been a member of this Committee since 2001.
Before founding his own firm in early 1997, Mr. Lee worked in public accounting for nine years and was the Audit and Accounting Manager for the last two CPA firms he worked for.
Mr. Lee is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Arizona Society of Practicing Accountants.
